Event Details
With a range of 10 minute presentations in the first half of the meeting we'll be covering lots of subjects.
Morson Projects will be sharing:
- Delivering the unsexy nuclear stuff
- Challenges of a medium sized business delivering in the industry
- Collaborations we are looking for
Cycliffe EDF will share their exciting growth plans in decommissioning and waste management with the USP of being one of very few organisations that actually has a nuclear licensed site that can decontaminate the waste.
They will do an overview showing how they are an organisation that completes the journey of nuclear facilities in an environmentally conscious manner. In doing so we underpin the case for nuclear new build by demonstrating that decommissioning and waste management is cost effective, and materials are recovered for re-use.
Cumberland Council has launched an Age Friendly Forum-find out more from one of their Ambassadors.
How can organisations engage with their future talent pipeline? What barriers do the younger generations face in gaining employment? Get the facts, figures and practical suggestions from Cumbria Youth Alliance.
Our panel will discuss: Unlocking Cumbria's Energy Potential: Strategies for Attracting Inward Investment
With decades of talks about new nuclear developments at Moorside and the recent decision against siting an SMR factory in Carlisle, it's crucial to explore innovative ways to position Cumbria as a prime destination for energy sector investments. This panel session will provide valuable insights and actionable strategies to drive growth and attract businesses to our region.
Panel members are: Jennie Stein from Enterprising Cumbria, Stephen McCullough from Armstrong Watson and Phil Leigh from University of Cumbria
As always our Charity of the Year, Time to Change West Cumbria, will be there with their Calderwood Coffee for sale.
